My X1 has been converted to a Mikuni by the previous owner. I'm not sure I would recommend fitting an S1 ECU though. They won't even fit into the X1 wiring loom cause they have different plugs. I also think the cam pickup plates/timing rotor between the S1's and X1's are different. They're certainly different between the M2 and X1.

I'm quite happy with the carb and it runs great (when the engine is in one piece :hehe: ) but my fuel consumption isn't great. Possibly not an inherent issue of fitting a carb, but keep in mind that it might need some feddling to get it tuned right. Running too lean or too rich is not a good thing for a Buell. Run too lean and it'll hole your pistons. Run too rich (as mine has been ) and you'll wear your valve guides and piston rings... Can't win! :headbang:

So how is your ignition timing set then Mich? Do you have a VOES as TPS? Or any other TPS input? If not, you will have no advance for part throttle and the engine will be very inefficient.

How have you fuelled it? What needle are you using? What slow running jet?

At least one member on this forum has an X1 with Mikuni and Crane Fireball.
