Interesting.
I've actually got the wheel off my bike just now (puncture grrr) - I'll investigate.

Seen those before, but I wouldn't want to risk using one on a XB wheel, just a little concerned that it would damage the inner faces.

Looks a bit flimsy to me. You want one with an expanding collet ;)

I got it off US EBay and hand carried it home.

You do your own tyre changes don't you?

Just use some tyre levers? Is it easy to break the bead on a motorbike tyre with hand tools?

I'm fussy about who touches my rim lOl

The only other person I trust to change tyres for me is Maz, coz he treats them like his own 8-)

Breaking the bead can be a real bugger, so I knocked up this contraption from some scrap I had lying about the place.

Buy a bucket of proper tyre lube too, it caost about a fiver and is sooo much better than washing up liquid etc

Howard mentioned using a spade to break the bead. I've never tried it, but can't see why it wouldn't work.

Interesting, thanks for the advice.

My rear wheel is a bit of a state - lots of chips in the finish. Been like that ever since I got it and someone gorilla at the dealer put tyres on it, but it's getting worse.
Think they'll need powdercoated next time I have to change the tyres.
