Not too far off what my STT looks like at the moment, though slightly lower than the Uly.

I'm up to my pal's garage to finish off a few bits on Tuesday, will try and get a picture.

Does anyone know if the Lightning seat will fit the Uly frame?

The STT, Ss and Uly frames were the same, so is it not just a case of buying a Uly and fitting the STT or Ss sub frame and removing the beak at the front?

I think your are right Pash, here's my example. I've been meaning to reply, but had not got around to cleaning it until today. I can't take the credit, for owner (a UKBeg memeber) has the work done by Black Bear I believe.

As I recall - The real Meccano went bust a long time ago. I wonder if that's where Erik went wrong. :coat:

Some on here will tell you that the real Buell stopped making bikes a long time ago...
iirc I more or less said that many years ago. :stage:

Is that an STT subframe?

I'd ideally like a shorter one for that stubby street-fighter-moto look

So having talked to a couple of guys at Moorespeed today I'm inspired to maybe see this project through.

I've dug about on the web this evening and it seems that the STT and SS subframes will fit right on, but I want the stubbier S subframe.

Anyone got any idea where I might source one?

Anyone got any advice/tips about if/how I'd go about making it fit?

Where does it NOT fit? Do the lower mounts fit but the top ones not?

What about with satin black or grey instead of the white?

Hmm... dunno.. I think I prefer the idea of the pearl/white finish, but they do look nice too...

I need to do more work/thought on the decals too...

I was up at the Ace Cafe today and bumped into guy on an XB12SS - we measured the subframe fixings and they did indeed seem the same and actually it didn't look toomlong as I had thought

Game on.

Hey mate,

When you get time, any chance you can take some reference photos for me?

Ideally a more perfect side-on pic of the rear half of the bike (I want a better idea of how far back the subframe extends as your pic is a little 'fish-eyed') and maybe some of the subframe with the seat removed so I can see how all the under-seat gubbins have been arranged?

Would be very grateful!
