i have an 08 spec 1125r from Blackbear. Im almost 4000 miles in since March and my only issues besides the published recalls are a warped front rotor which can happen on any bike and a leaky water pump gasket which was down to a loose bolt.

Blackbear did all the recalls to days when I took ownership of it in March 09 and its been charging along ever since. I commute on it, thrash about on it and take my son out on it in all weathers. It does what i expect of it and more.

Ive never owned a fast bike like this before so cant comment on how good or bad it is compared to a Jap 4 but for me, the torque is addictive.

Oh and my clutch cover has not leaked yet. I have the revision B bits fitted....

The Rev B bits are not the solution to the leaky clutch, the internals are the same as the original. If a new cover has been fitted, then I'm certain new seals on the sleeve and piston would have been fitted as well. This has probably delayed the impending leakage ;) Happily, the solution is very easy and then you'll have a great bike 8-)

spen - you have obviously not seen an 1125R warming up in the winter then with a standard exhaust fitted, thats for those of us who actually ride their bikes all year round and expect designers to take this into account.
If you think condensates from the exhaust dripping all over the rear brake and back tyre are acceptable then fine, I expect better than this

Laughably, someone (who should know) told me that the exhaust are designed to blow all their wet acidic shite all over the disc and caliper deliberately. The reason given was that it acts as a form of 'after pipe' silencer

Anyway, the Tubbs pipe addresses this issue ;) 8-) 8-)

You're right, I haven't, I've only seen one in the showroom, I felt quite queasy so decided not to look at one again, either running or silent. ;)

Some interesting points there,

If you're gonna try a Duke don't forget the Hypermotard, different and brilliant fun to ride. The build quality also seems good - only downside I've found so far is tank range, 90 miles to warning light.

As some folks on here know,I`ve been down the Bologna route before, for many years and still have a soft spot for Ducatis, but I`m not looking to go there again.

Steve, I know you can`t know everything that goes on in your dealership, but the warped disc is why Ronnie runs the thicker race rotor ;) this hasn`t put me off the one in your showroom tho ;)
