I'm confused...........all this fekin about with the ECM and the problems were not resolved....... and the latest reflash from HD does the job but the fans on over-time.

It seems like tuning the 2008 > DDFI ECM is not yet resolved.

I have the preprogrammed EBR ECM fitted, which is great except that from 3K rpm there is a big flat spot. The EBR ECM tech guys recons the only way to sort the flats spot will be to fit a drummer can (which is what it is programmed to suit) or buy a EBR programmable ECM unit.

I appreciate some very knowledgable and helpful Buell enthuisiasts have been sorting out a way of using ECMspy to sort it - but I have not yet seen a post where a ordinary punter states that they have totally sorted it - "and this is how I did it".

Has anyone sorted their 08> DDFI using ECMspy?

I see light at the end of the tunnel now.The wholy Grail awaits!

Are you sayin your original ECM is no good?
If it is ok and working why not refit it and see how bike runs compared to the EBR one?

No and done that - the original is significantly less good than the EBR one. See the thread - viewtopic.php?f=8&t=7704
My 2008 Uly is stage one tuned and the standard ECM doesn't seem to like it - Major popping on deceleration and flat around 3K rpm - otherwise fine & I guess most people would just live with it. But I like a bike to perform as well as it can - and be reliable - so after checking everything else and no difference (including a buell engineer tune of the original ECM) - went the EBR ECM route - and it has worked. The bike has never gone better. But it is not perfect. Riding this evening in the cool air it had no flat spot but earlier today in the warm air it did.
You appreciate this is a hobby of mine - I'm not on a mission or trying to prove anything. It's just that I get mixed messages about the possibility of tuning a Buell 2008> ECM. Pash now says he has improved his and presumably it stays changed/good. I expect he will produce a dyno sheet to back it up.

Gunter says it can be done too - I think? I would like to hear the same from Maz & Tubbs - the two main Buell engineers saying "yes - the 2008> Buell ECM can be remapped & its great and stays great" - until they do I will not be totally sure. No disrespect meant to Pash & Gunter - its just that Tubbs & Maz spanner these bikes everyday and are more in touch with Buellists. :)

Sorry, been to the Flat Track racing in South Wales on and S1 excursion to hang out with Daywalker and Toyboy1584...

Now, these are your front and rear maps.

It is the TPS 0 you need to adjust.

TBH, this is an assumption, cos I don't have an 08 bike, however the throttle is closed fully at tick over and the idle stabilisation valve takes care of things.

What you want to do is pull the fuel out, and to do this, the doctor prescribes a value of 10 from 8000 to 2400 inclusive for both maps. Save them, burn to the ECM and go and try. You need to be looking for throttle response if you were to open the throttle on the over-run to re-accelerate as well as looking to see if the popping has gone...

Let me know how you get on...

My TPS 0 is not on the table, it only goes down to 6. ie 18,15,10,6 so I adjusted the 6 line to 10 but still a load of popping on the over run. Is there a way of getting to the TPS 0 on the vertical axis?

Cheers

MC

Is your TPS zero when the throttle is closed?
