Age old topic I know sorry

Want to know peoples thoughts on what rubber people are running / have run on the 1125 and what does not work with the bike.

At the min iam on the corsa III's and like them

Depends on your priorities. If it's saving rubber, stick with the Corsas. If it's burning rubber, go for the Diablos :P

(ps, having never ridden a 1125, I'm extrapolating from an XB)

As you're local to the Emporium, I suggest Road Attack 2's. I've used the old R/A and they were grand - much better than I am lOl

The added benefit is that Maz will look after your rims when you change them. After poor experiences with the local tyre monkeys, he's the ONLY person apart from myself that I'll let fit tyres for me 8-)

had a Bridgstone bt 021 on the rear when i crashed at Lydden hill last year, didn't like it much after that :oooops:

Have been running these Maxxis super sport since then

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... K:MEWAX:IT

Cheap for a pair and seem ok so far, not had the bike running long enough yet to give them a proper roasting, but they were good on my mates GSXR K1 1000 last year.

I'm going to put some Michelin 2ct's on next though as iv'e heard nothing but good reports.

I think tyres are each to there own, as budget, and riding styles vary so much, but by all means get some suggestions from people that have tried and tested. And they make YOUR own decision.

I put a set of 2CT's on my Duc at the same time as I fitted a pair of SportSmarts on my 1125. I like both sets of tyres, but I've been measuring tread depths at specific mileages, and the SportSmarts are definately lasting better - despite the 1125 having considerably more grunt. Not very scientific, I know, but it gives some indication.

i have always / will go to :maz: to fit my tyres, apart from once on the xb which was a big error trusting a neighbour who own's a tyre shop, which i then had to take the bike to maz to sort it out.

I will always go for grip over return of tyre life. but saying that I dont want a out right race tyre.

Adam - please can you go to a wee bit more depth on the dunlops, are they good in the wet / are they stable when the bike is over in a bend.

Having been around a year or two, I remember how shite tyres were in the 70's, so I never push things in the wet lOl but they seem ok. The Dunnies are rated for the track, and I've given them serious grief on the road. I'm no tyre expert or riding God, and have never been unhappy with any modern tyre, they're all much better than my ability. All I can say is, I'm very happy with them, as I was with the Road Attacks - in fact people have used these on Trackdays with no problem at all. I believe the RA 2's are even better. They seem very sticky in the 'thumbnail test' which everyone does, but is actually meaningless lOl

I fitted Road Attack 2's to my 1125R - I would recommend them wholeheartedly - I feel much more confident on them then I ever have on the Pirelli's.

I put 023s on the Cr and after my 3000mile european tour last summer still looked like new ...the original tyres struggled to even get that milage.
Great tyre as well .....stickier than i think i'll ever need lOl

Don't put Maxxis on, several of us on here have tried them and came to the same descision........definately not a scratching tyre shit grip (but predictably shit) very slow to warm up, only plus is the price. Don't beleive their marketing hype!

Have recently put conti RA2's on the S1wl and they are seriously good, I'd even go as far as saying they're as good if not better than diablo's, brilliant profile so you can get riiiiight over, brilliant grip (better on dampish roads than maxxis in the dry) well fast to warm up.
You can be seriously savage with them and you have to try very hard to get them to squeal or step........totally recomend :yup:
