Is there a fuel filter, 2002 X1, that I can buy from any local parts dealer that does the job of the HD/BUELL part? Local dealer (Newcastle, 50 mile round trip), 9 times out of 10, parts not stocked Cheers Phil |

TTT, why is it every time you post I seem to have something negative to say about it.......sorry mate, I really dont mean to be anything other than helpful The filters you've highlighted are designed for use with carb'd bikes ie. they aint designed to withstand 50psi and the filter itself isn't even nearly fine enough to protect injectors. I'm desperately hoping a certain bloke from Stoke reads this and posts to confirm what I'm saying......I just had to replace both injectors on his X1 because he'd been using one of those filters. |

Phil, go to any decent motor factors, preferably one that's a Bosch agent and get them to search for the smallest in line filter with 8mm hose spigots, that would normally be used on a fuel injected car |

Thanks for your concern, Maz. It is entirely possible that the filters shown in my link might be suitable for carburetted models only. I admit that I may be guilty of a slap-dash effort when choosing which link to use for this particular product. I also admit that I take it for granted that people will do a little bit of research of their own before ordering products and do not rely entirely on the opinions expressed on internet forums. My fuel filter was marketed and clearly marked on the packaging as suitable for fuel injected motorcycles. I would not hesitate to scan in the packaging and post the image, but alas, this was desposed of nearly a year ago when I fitted the filter. Thanks anyway. |
