I seem to have a problem that causes all of my speedo instruments to fail intermittently so everything on the unit goes off and then comes on. I'm thinking it might be a connection to the unit itself or something else because I had a slight problem starting earlier with the 'tick, tick, tick' The starter button was still working so its not all of the electrics on the head gear and bars so any advice?

Earth connections probably need cleaning
also check battery connections are tight

I've got the battery on charge now. It didn't really need it. I fancy it's the battery connections... Something to do with the heat... Maybe a dab of grease on the contacts after. Something is pushing or rubbing somewhere I think. it's electrics though isn't it, could be caused by the noise from Mongols on the steppes.

You say Earth connections and presumably you're talking about the two additional wires on the battery?

That's exactly the problem actually. Do you know if our earth wires are mounted on the sub frame?

not heat
but if you have loose or a dirty connection , it creates a high resistance
this will cause the problem.
not sure where the earths are on your bike , just have a look at any connections
to the metal frame .

or it could be your battery is giving up

I did the earth cable and the battery connections. The battery connections had a build up on them which I sanded off and have had no starting problems since but I've still got a speedo problem and since I've lost the right light.... The headlight might be unrelated but I don't think so. I've never had to replace that one so don't know if it has a parking light bulb in. If not it's certainly electrical because it's out.

What about this, I've got no readings on the display at all now despite sorting the battery terminals and the earth next to the battery.

No indicators now, where abouts would that problem be, toward the back?

It's not developed, they broke it all up in the late seventies. Culturally maybe but who's to say bastardisation isn't culture?

If you don't understand that I'm saying that the North might be more culturally developed than the South but not industrially and perhaps not culturally because the culture of bastardisation in the South although negative is culture.

Did you know that there was a culture of bastardisation in the South? They don't want anyone here because it's warm, real daft. There's loads of space here, I wander about it regularly.

Get all your mates up here an more asap.
