I've just had it brought to my attention that my 2000X1 hasn't had the suspension mod that was a recall jobby years ago (too long a damper rod?).
Obviously it's too late, but, what do I look for/quote when I replace the complete unit? Is it the distance between actuating rod and fixing point or the length of the unit itself .... or what?
Anyone got a replacement....?

Nor has my '97 S3. The answer you'll find is an AST shock. Everybody keeps telling me exactly that.
