Well they are probably the best tyre I've tried thus far, but they ain't perfect. 2200 miles and the wires are showing, WTF you do to get the claimed 5-6k I don't know . They are a bit too soft in the centre and hence wear disproportionately, the edges worn much less in comparison to other tyres I've tried, ( remember almost all my riding is on twisty roads). Still cant fault the grip or warm up. The last 100 miles they show a faint parallel lining in the centre of the tyre then in literally a few miles completely disintegrate. Good scratching tyre but dont think they'd be much good for lots of motorway miles. You need to keep em cornering to prevent excessive squaring. Will be buying them again |

36 / 42 psi Had noticed adams conti RA originals had developed the same profile when well worn on his X1. |

Took some piccies of my shredded rear conti and sent em off to motorcycletyresuk with a note on bike, mileage and ridding conditions psi etc. They were concerned about the unusually quick wear out over the last few miles,.... So they've sent the piccies to Continental and I have had an E mail back and they want to have a look at the tyre once its off the bike Result! |

Did you have some of these tyres before? My mate, running the old Conti RA since 2005 noticed that the rubber compound seems to have changed last year, because the tyre looked different and wear increased significantly, but this year they apparently changed back again. |

Bought these tyres in feb from motorcycletyresuk as they were on a winter special offer, so they could well have been old stock. As I understand it they are a single compound cured in a way that makes the centre harder and the edge progressively softer. After sending the above pictures of other tyres i've had on the bike dunlop, diablo, maxxis they're concerned with the unusual wear pattern considering riding style and the wear pattern on previous tyres. TBH i'm chuffed that the tyre gave me similar levels of grip but twice + a bit of what miles I got from Diablos.......I find it nice that they are actually bothered and interested as I have expressed to them that I have no real complaints. I only sent them piccies to ask if the tyre was still safe to ride while I waited for my new ones to arrive. |

This is my Conti-Motion at 5k miles, I replaced it with a Race take off, Dunlop sportmax to get me through the summer. I will mount a set of Pirelli or Michelin in the spring. I will not buy Conti again. Attachment:

Don't really mind left or right personally...equally incompetent either way...... original Road Attacks did about 4000 miles IIRC, front wore out before the rear.....

I don't know, may be I'm just a hooligan......me front tyre is goosed at 3400 ie bald on the shoulders. No I don't do burn outs, check pressures every couple of days, generally quite sensible I just like to have fun The pictures were all of original road attacks, which I havn't tried but then every tyre I've tried dies a quick death. BTW the sudden disintegration of the rear tyre in its last few miles was due to a faulty pressure guage, 6psi down on what it should have been. Still it seems that the original RAs could well be better than the mk 2's. Anyway Adam agrees that 2k is about right for rear conti's on snowdonia roads, when riding as one should on a sorted tuber |

Thought I was bad enough for road riding Go on, admit that's after a track day The Black Pig only ever went on one track day - Mallory Park - and was wearing Racetecs on the spare wheels....didn't have to worry about tyre wear as the charging system destroyed itself taking the gearbox and primary drive with it....spent a while at The Emporium being repaired and upgraded and was retired to road only after that, just had a very good front end - upgraded by Traxxion Dynamics and very planted.........went to an S1 for the track after that and then wised up and went Suzuki.....finally saw the light and got a Ducati for the track ....goes much faster and is rather more reliable, completely different animal.... |

I remain OF Only ever ridden one Ducati, a 999, Wouldn't have one for the road personally, Didn't seem to want to turn until you were over legal speeds, Wife hated her Monster too. Can imagine you're having a hoot on track with one though. And yes folks, seems RA better than RA2 |
