Hi all, Couldn't decide whether to post this in "Buell chat" or "Technical", so I'm posting here! 2002 XB9R with 22+K miles and the rear shock is beginning to become a pogo stick. Which replacement shock would you recommend? Cheers, Dave |

Dave, I see you've been handing out the freebies this week to other folk, so now it's your turn. Hanging up in my shed is an 'allegedly' almost new XB rear shock. I've no idea if all XB shocks are the same or not (it has a blue spring, if that denotes anything ![]() ![]() If you want it, it's yours ![]() ![]() You could collect it at Deliverance pt2, if you stay awake long enough ![]() Having said all that, if I was you, I'd not hesitate in buying an AST shock. I rate them hugely, if nothing else, they demonstrate how Buell shocks are built down to a price. |

I really like the stock set up on the XB. I'm not saying I wouldn't find a difference with an AST but I would be happy replacing it with another standard shock. |

I like my shock (on my 12R), but I find it does not track very well over some of the ripples we have locally and I can't wind the damping off enough to make it better (same with the forks), tis like a bucking bronco sometimes... |

Adam, Thanks for your very generous offer! AST would be great, but finances are a bit tight at the moment. Could you provisionally put my name on the one you're holding and I'll have a look at my money situation as Deliverance gets closer. Thanks again! Dave |

No need to look at the money old froot. It's yours for nowt if it'll fit and you want standard suspension. You can give the site a bung when convenient ![]() PS. Bring some of those nice sausages to Del pt2 ![]() ![]() |

Adam, No problem on the sausage front! (You've just reminded me that I need to book the Friday before Deliverance off work!) Cheers, Dave |
