You know how I said I'll be asking lots of stupid newbie questions well, here's the first.....

I have spent all morning searching this forum and the web in general trying not to ask the following but even after reading mountains of 'which oil is best' dross I still don't know whether there is two or three places for oil in a Buell. Engine, Primary and Transmission? or two, Engine and Primary?

I have a Buell branded filter and suitable 20w/50 V-Twin engine oil. I've watched the video, have suitable tools, have changed oil in a many different vehicles..... easy!!..... but, the manual I have says Transmission oil should be changed at 10k plus Harley sites refer to their oil being suitable for all three places so, is there also tranny oil somewhere else or is it the same as the Primary or Engine oil?

I'm a little bit :oooops: :oooops: :oooops: to be asking.......

The 'Big Twin' Harl*ys, ie the grossly over weight and under powered barges, have a separate, gearbox and primary oil. The 'Girlster' based twins ie Buells, have common gearbox and primary lubrication.
