Well after all the horror stories about Buell reliability I was in two minds if I should risk a 3,500 mile tour of Scandinavia at all but decided a 10k service by Tubbs and i would risk it. The bike was only at 9.5k miles and the cost was eye watering including a replacement belt but with one pannier full of tools, and the removed belt as an emergency spare, off i set to meet up with the better half in Hanover.

Going then via Denmark, Sweden, to Norway, then back via Denmark to Germany and back to Blighty I did 3,500 miles and the Buell never missed a beat, oops lies, it sort of coughed twice but other than that it ran without fault. A great holiday and using the Uly how it was meant to be used. So if you get that sort of feeling of dread reading what can go wrong, ignore it and do it anyway. Buells may never be as care free as the average Jap but are still more than up for a serious road trip.

i agree, nothing like some touring photos to make you want to plan your own long distance bike ride. :)

Sure, I'll upload some tonight, stunning scenery but I get in the way of some of it.

Is that the Langfoss Waterfall?
My workmate has a cabin near there in a place called Odda, the Buer glacier is up there somewhere.
Great pictures.

It's a super place, everyone should go once. I was really glad I did it by bike as you can stop far more easily than a car for pics and you can see that much more.

Funny thing is that everywhere you go are fjords, lakes and waterfalls so what is in every city and town center......lots of fountains and water features.

Oh one other thing is that bikes don't pay tolls in Norway where everyone else does.

The pic of the bridge is a cheat by the way, that is Denmark we rode up through Denmark and Sweden to Norway.

This is the shot from our hotel in Odda across Havangerfjord

And the blue is the ice of the glassier.

Oh, yes it is Langfoss :)
