I know it might not go down well in some quarters, but hey why not be the one
to start a tyre thread on the new style forum.

So I am about to do a Scotland blast 800 milesish

I think after that as well as a service (i'll be in soon Maz to buy the oils etc) I may need new tyres.
So my xb9sx runs the original syncs now I know :maz: will recommend the Conti Road
Attacks (& most likely i will end up getting them at the Emporium) but I wonder what others are fitting at present?
I have heard a good report on the Mich road pilot 2's but they were not on a Buell

I not not require a super sticky track tyre and would like a reasonable mileage, as I am sure most of us do?

Go on guys chime in , even if you have done so many times before.!

My original Diablo's went square at about 1500 miles, but they were sticky.
I have now done about 4000 miles on road pilot 2's and they are still round. :D

Ah tyres, saves me asking done it!

I have nothing to help here cause mine are brand new but I'd be interested to find out if there is anything better than the Pirelli Diablo! I do know that the rear tyre isn't cheap at £112 fitted to loose wheel

On A Uly.

Started with Syncs - very good wet and dry and lasted 5K.

Went onto Corsa 3s - good in the dry not much in the wet and near dead at 3K. They did not feel right on the bike and I did not like them much.

On pilot CT2s now - amazing wet or dry. Wearing well so far. 2.5K and 4-5mm tread left. A very temp stable tyre with a neutral profile and works great on the Uly.

I'm on the Contis now and am very impressed. To early to say about milage.
When and where are you going in Scotland?

bet i get slated for this   being a bit skint this springtime i put a pair of Maxxis M6029 Supermaxx's on my M2. got to say though i'm really impressed with them, very fast warm up and grip great on wet or dry roads, only done 2000 miles but the rear still looks new so it looks like they'll last well!... :D

I would go further and say that I wouldn't fit them to a bike of mine if they paid me to. But, as Ash said, each to their own.
Just don't try to fit them to my bike when you think I'm not looking ;)

if i'm being honest i didn't really want them, it was a case of needs must, but for the money they've really surprised me!.. :)

When I get mine serviced soon I am going to have the Michelin Pilot Power 2CT's they look great and have some very good reviews. They are actually tacky to the touch when warmed up!
