Just a quick post on the service & care received from Preston Harley while my 1125 was in for warranty work. Despite derisory comments from (you can guess who)! I decided to entrust my bike with Preston Harley for the following work wiring harness modification leaking water pump Leaking clutch (suprise suprise)!! The water pump seal modification is a big job & requires engine rotation to access as the rear exhaust has to come off. The work meant the bike was with them for 2 weeks due to parts availability, however, they kindly lent me a HD 1550 Dyna Wide glide for the duration. I picked it up today & have covered 120 miles to celebrate its return (sun shining also had something to do with it) I have very carefully checked the bike over & its imaculate, not one error / over tight fastening etc etc whatsoever. I can report that if you are thinking of having work carried out on your Buell, you will not be treated as a second class citizen nor will they wreck your pride & joy as alledged to me. they are good people who love & care for bikes Harley, or not! Reccomended & yes I am a fully degree qualified Engineering Manager before you reply M*Z! |

Im sure you are a good spanner monkey, but there are other equaly good people out there. Support rather than criticise - who knows, you might get more business & respect? Mac |

During a visit to your premesis (thanks for the brew by the way)You absolutley slated Preston Harley accusing them of multiple cock ups which you 'the hero' rectified for customers, this has not been my experience of Preston Harley. be carefull who you are slandering |

.....take your own advice and be very careful who you libel on this site .......I can assure you that any accusations I made re. Preston H-D whilst you were 'enjoying' my hospitality can be varified/documented. Also, I'm really curious now, as to why you've posted in this thread in such an aggressive manner towards me ?......what have I done to deserve your scorn |

Maz I have no issue with you other than your attitude! had I have taken my bike to you & had top quality work carried out, beleive it or not, I would have posted your praises. As it happens, I took the bike to Preston Harley (with whom I have had no prior dealings, nor do I have any relationships with) its as simple as that! Take some time to read the way you have posted comments to myself & others, you have a holier than thou way about you. All I am suggesting is that you may gain more freinds if you gave your valued advice with a little more humility? |

.....back on topic....... My experience of Preston HD has been OK. But only OK. They have completed only warranty work for me on both the XB9R and 1125R. My experience with the XB headlight recall (that Maz identified but HD had not told me about despite owning the bike for 6 years at that point) and the 1125 clutch slave cylinder was OK. They did what they said they would on time. More recently the bike has been in with a Low fuel level light problem (on at the start of a ride in cold weather the LL warning and CEL would come on). Initially they didn't want to change the fuel pump (as LL sensor is part and parcel) and despite the fact that the ECU had recorded the fault they were unhappy that they couldn't reproduce it. It took several phone calls and a couple of personal visits until a replacement fuel pump was finally ordered. I was disappointed with the service from the manager, especially, who failed to call with with an update that he had promised, in fact they never called or texted with any updates .... but still insist on sending me texts about Harley Ride Outs.....FFS!. When I did get the bike back it was dirty and it had gone in clean, which I don't think is particularly professional.....and I doubt they would do that with a chromed up Electroglide. I have no problems with the quality of the work that they have done on the bike but poor customer service provided. Once the bike is out of warranty and despite the fact that i go past the place on my way home from work every day, if my recent experience is anything to go by, I am not sure that it will be going back. |

Hi Jeznewsome, What year is your 1125R. If it's a 08 or 09, I've yet to see a case of this low fuel warning/CEL light fault to be the fuel pump. In ALL cases for me so far, and there's been quite a few , it has been, an IC/clock program glitch, replacing the IC to the latest program spec has always cleared the fault, or at least, I've not had one person come back to us saying it hadn't.........yet! I'm just saying this in case your fault comes back bud, really hope it dosen't though |

My 1125 is an 09. I understand that there was a problem with the 08 ICs and the Low Level, sensor compatibiilty that needed an IC reprogram / change. There is a lot of info on the snag on BWB and mine fits with the symptoms of a pump (and LL sensor) change. I have filled the bike up (to prevent a real reading and to ensure there is a mass of cold fuel) and an looking forward (not sure I mean that) for a cold morning to see if the fault is still present |

My 2009 Cr did that ........and as Jon says was cured by a new set of clocks .............used to flash up low fuel and eng management lamp on start up in cold weather then correct itself after a few minutes running. Not happened since the clocks were changed . |
