Sign the e-petition now to stop these Stupid EU laws: :idea: http://bit.ly/w9kyuS :idea:

Reject EU (Motorcycle) 'Anti-tampering' legislation, this included Art 18 & 52, that will prevent ow
submissions.epetitions.direct.gov.uk

This will automatically become UK law soon and it means that bikers will not be able to customise their bikes in anyway or use cheaper (still safe & approved) 'after market' parts making it too expensive for the average rider – None of these directions make any sense at all and will not improve safety in anyway; just line the pockets of the large foreign bike manufactures. Bikers wil be singled out by the police and stopped and emissions checked; this is discriminatory. They also propose to ban filtering through traffic, which would be dangerous for air-cooled machines that could blow up in traffic and is the extreme of nanny state interference. Banning of motorcycles over 7yrs old in Urban areas. Clearly the EU intent to eradicate ALL motorcycles in the future and this is the thin end of the wedge...nanny state at its worst and it must be stopped right now! This EU legislation must be rejected by the UK governmen.

Bollocks. Do old VW beetles or 2CV's blow up?. Course not.

Even here in dear old "more papist than the pope, we want subsidies" Spain - this was defeated when attempted earlier this year. And it was barely made public.

There was a MASSIVE commercial uprising. Even main dealers complained - except (I'm told by the association representing the MC industry here) Harley Davidson.

I can't see it getting through too easily in France either. iirc they don't even have an MoT.

It's not about the EU - it's about revenue. Vehicle sales - contamination tax, etc etc etc.

Agreed..... there'd be a lot of old air cooled trials bikes going thru the sections at less than walking pace blowing up and a lot of air cooled race bikes doing the same as they wait in the holding bay and on the grid..... what a lot of scaremongering shite!!

This may have been defeated in other EU states, but our gov seems to be full of politically correct twirps who might just roll over and sign up to it cos it's being sold (lied about) as a safety measure! :roll:

IIRC this 'no aftermarket parts' scam was suggested for cars a few years back in the UK? Didn't go down well either, but no doubt they will keep trying to push this cr*p through legislation. Gotta justify their salaries somehow.

Yes... but apart from sanitation, medicine, education, wine, public order, irrigation, roads, the fresh water system and public health, what have the Romans ever done for us?
