You dont need a catch can. Get your Forcewinder directly from Force. www.useforce.com Tell Georgia you want a 'Maz' kit ie. DO NOT buy an XR2 kit as the billet breather costs a fortune and you'll be putting it in the bin as they dont work. |

I was just about to order a forcewinder, sexy carbon tank trims, catch tank, and the banjo thingies from TM. Now I'm even more confused Especially as the forcewinder has the breather going into the filter apparently? What's the solution? I don't really want to order stuff from the states, as it's a nighmare with the "Aduana" here. I have to pick it up from the bloody airport 80km away, and appoint an agent. |

Best solution is to fit XB rocker covers with their superior breathers ...........this allows you to block off the side exit breathers on the heads. Then T the two breathers together and either run to a catch can or a straight pipe just vented somewhere safe |

But Maz says we don't need a catch can? What's the solution in the meantime if I don't have XB rocker covers? I would have thought the catch can a reasonable solution, rather than running the muck through my nice clean air intake. |

Letting it breathe to atmosphere will be ok. Don't let the motor suck it in again. |

So a catch can then? |

Even with the original breathers you can just T them together and run them up and over the engine then let them vent to atmosphere near the exhaust outlet |

Even with the original breathers you can just T them together and run them up and over the engine then let them vent to atmosphere near the exhaust outlet I tried all sorts of variants of catch cans and filters and nothing worked. Just vent it straight out to atmosphere. I think these engines 'breathe' too heavily due to their long stroke. It just seems to overwhelm the breathers I tried at least. |

If not using XB covers: i) Keep the pipes as large in diameter as you can (min 10mm) to maximise the available volume for the to-ing and fro-ing of the breathing and to minimise restriction. ii) I consider it best not to 'T' them into one but to run two separate pipes for the same reason. iii) Run them up high from the heads and then down. iv) If you do use a catch can, consider that it too must breathe easily to atmosphere.... The advantage of the XB covers is that they use a PCV (positive crankcase ventilation) valve which means the flow is all in one direction (ie out) |

Thanks Guys! Goddit. I'd rather have something to catch the drips, though. Can't stand dark patches on the garage floor. |

It's more like an emulsified yogurt that comes out of mine As my breather pipe exits through the left footrest it always tries to shat itself over my boots when i have been out for a ride then restart it on the return trip You can just see it in this pic Uploaded with ImageShack.us |
