Ex business partner of mine has just had his brand new, unregistered S1 White Lightning stolen from his premises in Stockport :x
The bike was fitted with a Metmachex swingarm, hydraulic clutch and Brembo rear caliper conversion, Forcewinder, Borla CF muffler, race ign. module, cutdown camcase, Goodridge oil lines, etc. etc.
Fuel tank was replaced under warranty and has the raised graphics.

I'm guessing it'll be broken for spares, so please keep an eye on ebay etc.

If it goes up even in bits on Ebay then it will be found. Worth checking the chopper sites as well.

That's horrible, I was just having a conversation yesterday saying that a Buell is highly unlikely to get stolen as even in bits it would get noticed all over the very few forums.

I better stop leaving the key in mine :(

Sad news but the reality is that I doubt you will ever see it again.
A good friend of mine had a very trick Ducati 888. The bike was very well known and had numerous one off bits.
It was stolen in broad daylight from his garage on an estate. Two ground anchors, house alarm going off they didn't care. Took his leathers, loads of Ducati Corse bits and even his expensive and pretty unique Santa Cruz Mountain bike.
I'm a member of a couple of Ducati forums and the 888 community is pretty tight but not a sniff.
When we added the cost of the bike up he had over 25k in it.
Thought he had the thing properly insured. He got 9k back after a struggle.

But on the positive side, bits of it may turn up.

Daywalker had his DRZ nicked, bits turned up on EBay. I got in touch with the guy and asked for his phone number, I offered him far more cash than the bits were worth, got his address and agreed a time to go round. Daywalker lobbied Dibble, they went round and recovered wheels and exhaust (IIRC).

Sad thing was the rest of the bike remains lost as it was never found, and the guy that did the robbing escaped criminal proceedings cos his heavily pregnant bird took the rap and got a suspended sentence.

Some of this may be inaccurate, but Daywalker will straighten it up.

Although the guy got away with it in the eyes of the law, I am sure his life was made a little more difficult between him and his missus and brought him a little more into the focus of LAPD...

And besides, when one knows who did it, it doesn't take much imagination to say that one could give him a "lift home" from the pub and "have a chat" on the way.

Above Bike stolen from Stockport last weekend.
VIN 4MZYS11J7W3225593
Engine number YS11W225593
Above the numbers if anything pops up for sale or just email me on davidbetrix@aol.com or phone or text on 07899913338.

Thanks for the interest everyone.
Maz is as pissed off as me (nearly) it's one of the first two Bikes he built, his White lightning being the other. That is how he got into Buells after we brought these two back from Vegas while working out there on a show, I said I couldn't face another Harley falling apart around me as I rode it (have a Heritage out there and did then). We both didn't know then that you had to rebuild your Buell and cope with hundreds of recalls before you could ride one! The next trip he just had to have another Buell! I got a Ducati Monster because the dealer started selling them and we had to have a pair of bikes or none, couldn't cope with another Harley motor, I negotiated the best deal we ever did and the worst the dealer ever did, he had his head in his hands for hours and still did when we went to pick them up.
The rest is Buell History!! Point being that it is an important Buell in Historic terms for both of us.

I have a photo that Maz sent me on the FB page. We both don't know if it's mine or his! But anyway they were both the same when this pic was taken.

Thanks again.

Never had Maz down as the sort of bloke that used to do high kicks in the chorus line. lOl

Hope your bike turns up Dave.

Very sad.

If it was a really special one - it may well have been nicked to order. It's happening here. This info came to me from a copper - but not one directly involved. About 2 months ago the cops here stopped a container truck leaving the Southern Madrid cargo area for a "weight check". Was full of nicked cars and bikes - all specials. Headed for Bulgaria he was told by his colleagues.
