Post subject: | Uly Hot Seat!!!!!!!!! |
Well, my ar*e is being fried in this hot weather on my Uly!!! I had issues last year when I took it to Ireleand and the temperature went up to 26 - 28C while I was there. At the time I blamed my Gore-Tex textile pants and it didn't happen again until this year! Now, I am dreading getting on my bike in textiles or leathers because once the heat starts soaking through the seat, my ar*e starts aching like nobodies business! I'm off to France on it in 3 weeks time and I'm beginning to dread it!!! I never had this problem with any of my previous bikes, (none were Buells though), so any suggestions??? For the record, I have all 3 different types of Uly seat and I currently ride with an Alaskan Butt Pad on to try and keep the heat off, but even that doesn't work. Today, I tried an Airhawk pad under the Alaskan pad and it was OK for until the heat soaked through. I'm used to 500+ mile days on trips, but in this weather, I can only manage 1.5 hours until I can't wait to get off the bike!!!! |

Took my standard right hand scoop off in hot weather and it worked a treat. IMO the right hand scoop (standard) is designed to keep hot air around the intake but in hot weather it's not a problem, take it off and try it friend worked for me. Nate. |

I've got the special ops kit under my seat, it does work but doesn't completly stop the problem, also if you ride in jeans it stops the blowlamp effect on your thigh. Got to wonder why we have bought a tourer that you can't ride when it's hot, derrr. Andy |

I get this on my STT in winter, can't contemplate riding it in this weather. My fan seems to like running, once it starts it just won't stop whilst riding. |

I have the "Odie's" heat blankets Contacted him through BadWeb and PayPal'd him the money and a few day's later they arrived Was out on Saturday PM for a couple of hours on my Ulysses and did not notice the heat so I can only conclude that they work very well I also have the RHS Roberto airscoop |
