Yup, 2nd belt to snap in 2 and a half years o..f ownership. I still remember the salesman telling me they last for 50000 miles...

First one did 13k this one did 12k miles.

In 40000 miles on my 955, I changed the chain once.

But you cleaned the back wheel and oiled the chain 100's times, you can't have it all.

As a new owner of a Buell, I can confirm that I suffer from 'Belt life anxiety'! :ill:

My way of coping is to order a new belt, fit it, and keep the old 'un ready as a spare which can be left in the garage or taken on tour.

It'll always be on my mind, though...."Will this be the wheelie that breaks the camel's back" etc. etc. lOl

Jon

PS Scottoiler on 955i Tiger with touring reservoir. filled reservoir approx every 6,000 miles. C&S replaced at 24K & yes, back wheel stayed a bit mucky!

If you are doing wheelies, get yourself a spare front isolator too...
