 Post subject: 1125 rear indicators....
PostPosted: 14 Jul 2012 13:16
I have strange goings on with my rear LED indicators, one is flashing weaker than the other, I changed them both and now the other one is doing the same thing? is this a buggered relay issue rather than the indicator its self?

Sorry I haven't had or hear of this problem before. I guess that the relay would be the next component to look at

No relay on 1125, they're IC controlled.

/maybe an earth problem then. get yourself an annalog volt meter and measure the voltage to the indicator. put the negative wire straight to the battery and then to where the common is for the indicator. they should be the same.

I've tried LED indicators over the years but could never get them to flash right or flash with all the Led's working , even with a Badlands voltage regulator from HD , gave up and now stick to 'normal' indicators - good luck lOl

Get the 2010 model ones, they're bulbs, problem sorted !

Probably going to jinx it now, but I've never heard of any of the fronts (built into the mirrors) going bad ...

Fairly sure the earlier IC wont operate 'bulb' indicators :?

It does, I've fitted them to my 2008 R as I got fed up with the LED indicators failing. 8-)

With sportster on this, the LED's are expensive and although they look the bit, they are shite, better with a good old lamp.

Part numbers -

Y0526.7AA - left

Y0527.7AA - right

Surprisingly they're not as expensive as I remembered -

I also had a pair of aftermarket 21w bulb indicators fitted on the rear for a while, they worked fine as well, cost about £15 for the pair, IIRC I just had to change a couple of the bullet connectors.
