Post subject:  XB CRANK PIN REFURB

got round to stripping our XB crank safto von n me ,so brians assement ,bearing cage clearence in the big end is 8 thou bob on ,def no more than 8 ,cage very poor ,pressed up constrution instead of one peice in steel ,crank pin boarder line on diameter would like to them larger ,pic shows G 50 on the left buell ont right ,right the numbers ,brian prefers fits bearing rated at 25 kN or greater were poss in 500 CC and larger singles (buell motors ARE just two big singles on a common pin ) RIGHT the dynamic numbers, bearing in the front rod the knife 22.7 kN ,not quite 25 HMMMMMMMM ,bearing in the rear the fork 29.9 kN most excelent ,now sadly brians cages collection dont cover the buell sizes ,see pic of boxes of cages :rotfl: :rotfl: ,RIGHT after 3 hours of catalouges n a phone call we found ,cages ,rollers,poss use of brians hardened rings ,maybe not ,in house pin manufature were getting there,now awating prices ,RIGHT dynamic loads of these ,front knife 23.8 kN closer buuut not quite right ,rear fork 26.7kN after a bit of bla bla these will do ,point of interest number or rollers in the buell cages 16 ,in the ones we tracked down 17 ,not a bad days work peeps and im not in the business of repairing buells SHOCKING :rotfl: :rotfl:

When (or if) I ever get a scanner, I'll get up in the loft and dig out the photos of my Bonnie crank, with one half in each side of the crankcase when I split it, to find out why it stopped. lOl

Somewhere? in the shed, I've got a bolt from the center flywheel of my Beezer A10 embeded in a chunk of crankcase - lesson learned about reusing crank bolts lOl My bacon was saved from wheel lock up by the primary chain snapping - this then wrapped around the clutch hub and took out the primary cases lOl

doc ,vons sure the damge in the holes on the crank you split was done on assembly not when you split it :yup:
