Hi guys took my bike for mot today, and it drove very badly, it just won't idle, it seems to be running on one then two cylinders at low speed, however when you go faster it seems to be ok. This is it's first time out since last year, any ideas, i just can't get the choke to stay on, it springs back. Regards julian |

![]() viewtopic.php?f=8&t=15437 Do the intake seal test and stick some fuel system cleaner in the tank and go for a ride. |

Modern petrol simply doesn't last more than about three or four months without going stale and gumming up jets. If it were mine, I'd drain the tank, fill it with some good stuff (Shell V-Power or BP Ultimate) and take it for a long run. If that doesn't work, it's carb strip time.... |

Confused.com is yours this one? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=230854412028&autorefresh=true which seems to be a carbed non thunder storm S3 but registered in 2002? It has a cyclone rear end? |

Thanks for the replies, well spotted Daywalker, it is a 98 bike that remained unsold in the Harley shop till 2002. Regards Julian |

Have you still got the S3T rear end and panniers for the bike. Just wondering why the cyclone bodywork? |

i am fairly sure there was a non-pannier/legshields version of the S3 as well as the touring version (S3T) but i am not sure what rear bodywork it came with as standard. |

i was just looking thru eGay, half the seats u find listed for S3s from the US have the same wide front end as the one on that red bike, but mine has the pointy front; made me wonder if they had 2 different styles of seat/bodywork, or, there are a lot of parts wrongly listed. |

Mine has the pointy one the one he has there must be for the cyclone rear end. |

As stated its a M2 rear tail section, for it to be a S3T requires the lower legshields pannier mounts and hard boxes in either slim or fcuking enormous. the S3 98 was none thunderstorm |
