I'm a tad concerned about an upcoming trip to France. My XT will be fully loaded, 2 up and I'm a shortass. I've bought the lower seat but I'm still not very comfortable trying to balance all that weight (sorry hon) on tiptoe. Is there anything I can do to lower the seat height? I've got a 29" IL. This balancing act is really spoiling what should be great fun. H.E.L.P |

 But seriously, I would be in the same boot - ... er, boat as you: 29" inseam. I have always thought from what I have heard that the Uly would be too tall for me. Yet to try one. I think one could do some custom surgery to the seat to get it narrower/lower. I don't know what companies in the UK to point to, but Sargent in the States are highly regarded. |

hi i was in the same situation as you last month i bouught a uly kidding myself i could ride it safetly well i have been to maz the no1 buell wizz kidd and can tell you apart from changing the forks and the suspension to xb12ss spec there is nothing you can do i have even been in touch with corbin seat manufacturers and no luck there either i had mine 9 days and ending up swapping it for a xb12ss long instead sorry but no good news unless you get the xt, from a short ass jeff |

Jeff, it is an XT I have. The lower seat makes very little difference though. Gunter, could you send me the link in English, I found the site but was unable to trace the part on the English website? Thanks for the replies chaps. So it seems there is no reasonably priced way I can do this. borrax  Just a thought, what would happen if I dropped the forks through the yoke 1/2"? |

How about getting someone like Hagon to make you a shorter rear shock, then pulling the forks through a bit? |

I have a 29" inside leg & managed the LeJOG trip fully loaded without any problems (ask Roz) on my XT  ok ok so I am also a fat bastid so that helps

try this lot, they sell the Hyperpro stuff. there is a kit which lowers the 'x', but i dont see anything for the xt. might be worth phoning them. http://calsport.co.uk/ |

the hyperpro kit is front and rear springs, with fork oil and a very good manual. i used a set on my Scg (obviously not to lower it  ) much better handling. as the rear shock is directly mounted to the frame and swingarm there isn't any linkage that can be changed to lower height, so it seems to be either change the spring or a new shock built to suit. i also wonder if hagon could do anything? |

Take up trials riding and don't put your feet down ever! it worked for me with when I had a BMW GS. |

Ouch, that aint cheap for a bit of lathework. Why not get someone to make you one? Perhaps Spondon440 would be willing if enough interest... |
