Does anyone know if someone makes a hugger without the beak that sticks up in the air over the belt and pulley as I can see no point in this and many people choose to cut it off or leave the hugger off completely.

Well you've answered your own question there, haven't you :?

Either cut off the offending item or better yet, throw the hugger in the bin, de-lug and polish the swingarm = job done :)

No not really my question still stands which is "does anyone make a hugger without a beak as what is the point of buying a new item and then cutting it about if there is one produced already restyled + I don't want to discard it as I have no wish to end up with stone chips all over my new alloy oil tank

Dont think the hugger fits with the ally tank...it doesn't on an M2, I maybe wrong however,

All the huggers seem to have a beak and I would say they are for chain driven bikes . Cut it off.

If it's a Metmachex tank, then they dont work with huggers ie. the hugger will foul the tank at full suspension movement.
The Metmachex tank for X1 is a fail IMO and I wont fit them due to the close proximity to the main circuit breaker and the need to re-route the battery cables :)

In that case, it definitely (100% certain) wont work with a hugger/metmachex tank

......like I already said, delug and polish the swinger

......also, if you didn't tell Sean that you were using the tank with the later cast arc swinger fitted to an S1, then the arm will also foul the oil drain fitting.

Both in black chrome, When you have had a few bikes and got through tubes and tubes of Solvol you realise that there is more to life then polishing alloy motorbike parts.

Good luck to you Paul, I have nothing more to add other than have fun and enjoy your bike.......look forward to the pix :)

.......professionally polished parts require very little maintenance other than maybe an annual wipe over with Brasso......Solvol is the devils spawn :x
