My X1 lighting which I owned had the Thick decals which must have been at least 2mm thick, does any one know if someone make them after market in the UK or are they just OE as I am sure they will not be cheap (if you can still get them)
As I have just Carbon wrapped my S1 Mantra tank and I don't want to put flat standard decals on, and at about £30 wrapping makes a viable option if the petrol vapours start to leak out again (mind you it takes about 2hours and just as much sweat)

This link was on the ukbeg Facebook page a few months ago. People are saying the raised lettering is on there.

To be clear are we talking a vinyl wrap here or a proper skin of carbon fibre?

That was my thinking it seemed too cheap to be a "real" skinning in carbon. I suspect a vinyl wrap will probably still get bubbles but happy days if it does cure the problem. We shall find out if we ever have any sunshine this summer.

With regard to the 'thick' or 'raised decals, I bought a set from DG20 a few years back, about £35 IIRC. I don't know if they are still available from HD but I have seen them on ebay recently ...think it was that 'optimistic' guy in the US, you know the one who thinks of a figure and then doubles it for the shipping...
Correct me if I'm wrong but I think the thick decals were fitted to later bikes (post '98 at least) and they are a different size to the early thin decals. I had the intention of cutting the thin and bubbled decals off my tank and sticking the thick ones in their place but they are a very different size. So I attempted to get some 'thick' decals made up to my spec but had no success in finding anyone with 'thick vinyl... most sign makers had never heard of it ...and I couldn't see it on that link either...

Vinyl wrapping might make bubbles appear sooner ............. some original tanks ONLY bubbled the vinyl lettering . This makes me think some of the original paints would allow any gasses to escape through it which then became trapped under the vinyl.

Thank Maz will do that, trust you got my pm?
With regard to all the other questions: Yes it is vinyl but at £30 it has to be worth a go also if it does start to lift you can warm the tank with a hair dyer and push bubbles to one area the pin hole the vinyl to release the air (sounds so easy I have nearly convinced myself)
