Howdoo!
Where should I get some of the above from, for my 2001 X1 ?
The original black ones I have on the bike are scabby, and I think the chrome will be a nice contrast with the black engine.

Yes I'm a tart! lOl

TIA
Mick.

If you must have them chrome then why not get yours coated ?

Or I think 5 speed Sportster ones of the same year range fit ...

The moral here is do not ring black bear on a Monday requesting postage and do not ring Maz at all coz he hates postage
But in some strange sort of way I think I love him (Maz that is)

Thanks for the replies. I don't want to plate the ones I have, as I said, they are scabby and won't plate well.
If I have to go to a Harley dealer, I'll check my local one first, as I'm in Spain.
The only ones I can find online are those daft collapsable ones.

Cheers,
Mick.

Well thank you Pashly! :)

Why not make a list of everything you need for your rebuild and then order all at once. It would keep the p&p down
You could add spares, don't forget to quote UKBEG for your discount. lOl

Thanks for the replies Guys 8-)
I took a punt on the pushrod tubes Pash kindly linked to.
I'm not really doing a rebuild.
I had the bike partialy stripped, to remove a nasty and annoying alarm system, and was in the process of giving the bike a good going over regarding fluids, checking bearings, and replacing some of the known niggles such as isolators, front mount, oil pump drive gear, and losing all the nasty plastics such as the bread box air filter, and the ridiculous bit of plastic under the engine. Don't actually know what it's called or what it's supposed to do? :?
The plan is to use if for a while, then get into a full strip and powdercoat/plate/anodise/paint at a later date.
But the garage I was borrowing was a cave, couldn't see what I was doing, so I put it back together and I rode her up to a better place where I have an engine hoist to lift the back end, and much better lighting and a bench. Should have taken her there in the first place  )
(I'm planning to build a large workshop at the rear of my house next year)

Anyway, the ride up to the other place was the first time I've really riden the bike with gusto. What a riot! :D
She's a bit too loud for me though, so I'll have to do something about the can.
The bike gained a lot of attention and positive comments when I decided I needed another excuse to go for a blat, and nipped over to the local Ferriterria. "Bueno moto!" lOl
Unfortunately she also seemed to attract the attention of the Policia Local and Guardia Civil, who seemed to appear everywhere I went!
So definately need to quieten her down a bit.
Oh, and the handling was er.... interesting... I think the rear isolators have had thier day.
Love the long legged gearing and low down grunt though. :yup:
Anyway, now we've done a bit of bonding, I think I'll call her War Horse. lOl
Let the strip down begin...

What milage has it done? .............the newer ear type rear isolators virtually last for ever (muffin has about 60000 on his). ;)

12,600, I have some of the "uprated" ones ready to go on.
If I stick my finger in the hole and rock the bike on the sidestand, I can feel it moving quite a lot.
Should I de-lug the swing arm while it's out? :?:
