Had probelm with starter motor so removed primary cover , got a shock as tension had snapped in the middle. Is this normal ?,

I have an updated chain tensioner sitting in my garage that I bought some years ago for an S2 I had. When I pulled the case off it already had the updated tensioner fitted so this ones in the garage gathering dust. I think it's the same pt no for all the tubers.

Shame you're in Germany as I would be happy to let someone have it for the price of postage but I suspect the postage would end up being more than it's worth...

Just got home and checked mine-it's the same as the one Pash posted, Pt No 39975-90A. I have checked on the Royal Mail site and I could post it to you for £5 (5 days, no tracking) or £12 (2 days tracked). Let me know if you want it and I can bang it out to you. :yup:

My M2 was recently worked on (Dec 13) by Maz and my primary chain tensioner bracket was discovered to be broken. Prior to it being found, there had been no indication of its failure, no worrying noise from the chain, no jerkiness.
I guess I'm saying; if you do not know that you have the upgraded tensioner on your bike, dont wait for it to go horribly wrong before checking/ replacing.
