Finally got round to fixing the X1 today after putting it off for ages. Popped into DG20 to order an Engine Temperature Sensor to find they had one in stock Very suprised and got a discount for being in UKBEG which was another surprise considering the slagging we give em here Cheers chaps, credit where due ( I paid cash actually).

Having mulled over possible causes of intermittent misfire turning into horrendous death throes at times, reckoned ETS most likey cause as ages ago started playing up after about 5 miles before clearing, then behaving, then random belches farts and coughs..... (bike too). If sensor detects overheated rear cylinder it cuts that one out which is handy when overtaking etc

Maz agreed at East Kirby that was probable cause and suggested the old cut down socket trick. Worked a treat and bike running great again.... forgot how much different to S1 it is, (US gearing and Buell race system) good mixed run today and all seems OK again if not a bit LOUD:D
