Think im gonna go for an mt03 headlight on mine, not sure what to do with gauges though. Was thinking Koso gauges maybe but not sure will they work. |

Gauges I'm toying with one of the tiny units to go in the yoke. Making a screen and want it close to the forks with the light fitted in. Few more things I want to upgrade but that'll be over time. Full exhaust would be nice tho. How's your bike coming on Dave |

Just a thought about gauges ![]() ![]() ![]() Bit of a shock to the purist type suggestion I now, but I can see your going your own way anyway. Just a thought. |

The whole lot is stripped now, was supposed to go to powder coater today but my swingarm wasn't ready (was getting bearings pulled and lugs smoothed off). Must source some bits for engine next and hopefully then should be going back together! Have a friends wedding coming up soon so that's slowing the job (stag, lack of funds etc haha) |

Yeah I know that feeling. Bike seems to be taking a lifetime to get done. Getting there tho slowly. Graeme, can you by any chance get some details off your mates re speedo's. Would use one if they are defo accurate, good thinking |

Hello Jim, gave friends a quick call, one is running a wireless catseye strada (cant remember the model) cost about £35 at the time - comments + measured it against GPS = more accurate than his origanol speedo (gixer streetfighter) and backlit - only goes upto 99 MPH The other guy cannot remember the make, bought out of a bicycle shop for ~ £25 comments + goes upto 150 MPH, only measured accuracy by other riders speedo's (thought to be on the nose), wireless - not backlit, although claimed not entirely waterproof. Both have been in use ~ 3 years, there's a lot of options out there, every spec under the sun, my friends were driven by a desire to do it cheaply, there is a lot better out there |

Forgot to mention - Speedo's do not form part of a MOT, but there may be a minor civil offence that you could still get a defect notice from the police for (possibly riding at night and not backlit? just guessing). so remember to be polite if pulled over (probably will be anyway due to exhaust/ numberplate/ etc....... (delete as applicable)) |

Get a wireless one cos the wires for a bicycle front wheel fitment will be too short. |

Dave, I have the Koso RX2N GP clocks fitted to my M2. This uses a magnetic pick up for the speedo and the overall wiring is not too horrendous to deal with. (The speedo is also as inherantly accurate as your ability to set the tyre diameter.) These clocks have several features that are redundant on a Buell (coolant temp / warning, fuel level / warning etc) but the 'pre-shift' and 'shift' warning lights are a lot of fun! Speed warning light is also handy (for when you are doing pace-setting, obviously) - I doubt I'll be troubling the maximum "you are exceeding 225mph" warning. The target distance timer is useful on long runs - specify the distance and the time you expect to cover this in, and it tells you whether you are above / behind the clock. Remember to disable the max speed recorder! I did look into the possibility of fitting a fuel level monitor - very useful with the skinny tank - but this is still on my "to do" list. I am actively working on the oil temp warning option. Remember that you can program all of these warning lights etc for the way you want them. Obviously my speed warning is set at 70 ![]() In short, its the most "rider information" that I have seen packed into a tiny clock - takes a bit of time to set up and get used to what it is telling you, but one of the best decisions I made on my build (and I made a lot of howlers!).
