Hi folks, went off the grid for a while.

I had a big off racing last May, the bike stood up and dumped me on my back. Then kindly landed on top of me, before dragging me another couple of hundred feet up the track.

I suffered a burst fracture at T11 and some -yet to be sorted- lower back damage. Plus a crushed left foot - saved the fork tops, clocks etc as my foot went straight thru the centre of the top yoke, I've got a scar where I flattened the key lOl.
And plenty of lumps, bumps and the odd friction burn.
My leathers and boot did their job though and strangely my helmet never touched the track??? Until I stopped rolling and discovered I couldn't get up :(

I've been lucky and suffered no paralysis or any other serious complications. And depending on how I heal I might get racing again. I tried at the end of last season and I can actually ride the bike... once... then I'm knackered for the day. I can't race like that.

I'm still be investigated, had another mri on friday. Hopefully I won't need any surgery. T11 could have been repaired if it had been found early enough but thanks to our wonderful local A & E refusing to look at me as I hadn't been taken straight to them, it was 10 days before they xrayed me, then it was arse covering time and by the time I saw a consultant it was too late. So I'll be left his a stoop and a bit of a hunch back. Just call me quasimodo.

In the mean time I'm full of lovely painkillers.

If anyone need any 1125 parts I've got loads.
The orange bike from last year is available too if anyone fancies a go at drag racing or sprinting.

Sob story over, sleepy time now :coat:
:D Shit appens :D

Hope everyone else is better than me.

How on earth can you fall off on a straight bit of road :?: :ner:

Glad to hear you're still in one piece and on the mend :yup:

(Just kidding, I've only ever done the Ramsey Sprint and I was astonished how difficult launching quickly was :o ....not that I managed it particularly well  )

Thanks folks, it wasn't something I expected to do :D but there are 2 dodgy parts to drag racing starting and stopping. I messed up the starting bit :D

Was still doing 90 according to the data log when it dumped me off and I'd shut the throttle after 1 second  It had never accelerated that hard before and I underestimated the effect of the extra power on the clutch.

Seeing as I was in trouble so soon it was amazing how far me and the bike went. I ended up by the 330ft lights and the bike nearly made the 1/8th mile.

Fingers crossed I will mend reasonably well, but we don't bounce quite so well at 48 as we do at 18 lOl Hopefully the delay caused by our useless a & e dept won't have a lasting impact. Lots of physio to look forward to

Having just found out about Maz's problems I don't feel so bad. My injuries should heal eventually, once they get their thumbs out their bums and work out what I have done. At least I'm lucky enough to have medical insurance.

And at the end of the day it was my screw up, no one else's fault.

What's happening to Maz and the other businesses involved is scandalous. The council and police should hang their heads in shame
