Bike was in WCHD yesterday for a service and when i went to pick it up Holly said "you know it looks like someone tried to steal the bike at some point don't you?"
my face did this
She then took me out and sure enough it looks like someone has stuck a screwdriver into the ingition barrel

Then she proceeded to show me the vertical cut on the drive belt which looks to have been made with a stanley blade.
Livid doesn't come close.
Thing is it can't have happened outside my flat as the bike is chained to a metal fence, under a cover in a private garden in full view of 20 or so flats. Surely not even a tea leaf would try and start a 1200cc vtwin when it was still chained to something?
Can only guess it's happened when i've left it in the city centre - not that it happens often and it's always got a disc lock on it.
Anyway just wanted to say "bastards"
.....oh and WCHD seem to have done a good job for a good price
