I have had an R&G crash bar fitted to my 2008 XB12ss for the last couple of years with no problems. My clutch cable wireform broke so I ordered a new one. This wireform is no longer available and has been replaced with a much better bracket - part number N0012.1AAA but unfortunately there is not enough space between the front isolator and the R&G crashbar for it to be fitted. I contacted R&G with regard to this but they are unaware of any problem. I modified the clutch cable bracket with a hacksaw and file and emailed photos to their research and design team but i feel that unless more people are reporting problems to them its unlikely they will developed a revised fitting kit.. This crashbar cost £129 and is a quality piece of kit . Has any one else had the same problem and if so can they they tell R&G about it. Thanks

I hear you man, to be honest, R&G probably aren't interested as Buells haven't been available at the dealerships for nearly 5 years, and the numbers of them are dwindling as a result of then getting robbed, wrecked or sold to Germany... How many more of these kits would they expect to sell? How many more would they expect to make? I think there are one or two in Riders of Bristol that they would be only too pleased to shift... :o

I think we need to look after ourselves these days, we have no market presence for accessories anymore... :(

Sorry to be negative, but I fear the reality. Shouldn't stop everyone putting pen to paper though and flooding R&G with requests...

Oh, welcome to UKBEG by the way... :sun:

Thanks mate. I know what you mean! My modified bracket fits ok (view picture attatchment). Just feel a bit cheated given how much these R&G crashbars cost and the new clutch cable bracket has been available since 2008 so surely someone else must be aware of this fitment problem . They would probably only need to supply the correct spacers and longer mounting bolts !

The photos that i emailed to R&G with regard to this problem can be viewed under the same title in BUELL TECHNICAL FORUM . I feel pictures and a diagram explain the problem better than words can describe. Thanks for viewing
