Just wondering if there's a downloadable parts manual?

Make sure it is a 96 model and not a 97 model registered in 96. Lots of differences and the 96 model wasn't officially imported into the UK.

It has "date of manufacture May 96" on the headstock, I was told it was imported privately to a rich person in Jersey before they were officially imported. Can I rely on that date?

thanks

You could get a yellow one in 96, they are awesome (but the paint fades)..,

If it was manufactured in May 96 it probably is a 96 model but next model year normally starts in June lOl The tenth character of the VIN No (before the 3) will be T for a 96 and V for a 97. Cosmetically a 96 model will have red adjusters on the top of the fork legs.

Had a look, doesn't have red adjusters, brass colour, but does have T as tenth character before the 3.
Are there many other differences?

Interestingly the parts book shows a different setup for the rear master cylinder, horizontal rather than vertical. Not sure if that was the way in 1996...

https://www.twinmotorcycles.nl/webshop/searchparts.asp will allow you to view parts diagrams and numbers over a range of models.
