ok, apologies for the really dumb question but thought it might be quicker to ask you lot rather than scour the net for the answer. Just wondered if my lights are wired up the wrong way around. If I am sat on the bike then the light on the right is on for dipped beam and the one on the left comes on for High beam. Is this correct ![]() |

Sounds like an xb and sounds like the usual relay trouble surfacing it's ugley head. Mine did it allthough I had a dim dip too. You could elliminate the relay by swapping for another relay in the fuse box and see if the main brightens up, if not then it not the relay, if so you need a relay. N. |

If its an xbs then the headlights are ok. Right is dip, as dip should be on the offside of the bike. |

Ahh, now you put it that way... ![]() It's an xb9sx, twin lamps up front, the right hand one is on usually and the other comes on when I switch to high beam. Just doesn't seem as powerful to me. Reason I brought it up was I recenly had the clocks replaced, thought they had maybe got the wires the wrong way round but couldn't remember which side should be on anyway. |

I guess Buell builds its bikes primarily for the LH drive side countries; my US XBSs is set up with low beam on right also. But I'm betting the low beam is so dim, it doesn't matter which side it's on. |

When I got my xb the dipped beam was dim, then it stopped coming on at all. Then within days the bike refused to turn over of the button. Some investigation revealed the start relay also switches the lights on before and after starter opperation. Swapping with another relay from the injection or other instantly gave a bright light. While I waited for a replacement I removed the relay cover and found burnt contacts and so cleaned them up and got everything to work properly again but only for a short while. The new relay was the fix and as I say had real good bright lights. HTH. N. |

The lights on my 07 XB Super TT are wired that way too. FWIW, they are very bright.... more so than my old GSXR. I've no complaints. |
