When I had my XB12S over 4 years ago I always found the clutch difficult. I tried building up my left hand with exercise but it never really worked as I have diddie fingers and could not get enough pressure with the standard levers as it tended to produce pain in the flexor muscles and tendons especially around the Carpal area. It was not so much of problem then as my main bike was a Beemer 1150GSA and the XB12S was only used for short fun rides. Now that I am getting an XB12XT as my only bike I am looking to replace the clutch lever with an adjustable. I have 2 questions:
Experience and recommendations would be appreciated. |

Have a look at a set of ASV's Infinitely more adjustable. |

Longer levers give more leverage. I don't think you can go wrong with Pazzo. CRG or ASV's. The ASV's are newer and can be sourced cheaper. |

I think that the newer models have a lighter clutch - have you had the chance of a longer ride on the new bike? There is also the muller clutch mechanism available to lighten it further. Another trick is to put some more slack in the cable adjuster which brings the lever back towards the bar, but not so much that you can't get neutral when the engine is hot! I have to admit that I have a problem with these very expensive levers - it seems to be tempting fate that I would have the bike topple or a walking speed offski. I guess that the short ones are an answer to that one ![]() |

The ASV Levers look great. Any feeling regarding the vertical slack or waggle? Have decided to try her for a bit b4 I splash out on levers. reading around the diff forums such as BadWeather and ADVRider it seems that Buell have realised that weaklings like me still wanna ride a beast. Though I would rather save the money and put to some noise to compete with a Victory that a mate has ![]() |
