Ha ha! Nutah, you made me laugh!
Thanks Beef, when I say my first dry sump bike, I was referring to the fact that my jap bikes shared the engine and gear oil, so I expect to see it black.
But as the gearbox on this one is separate from the engine oil, I was surprised to see it come out so dark.
I also expected less metal on the plug.
But if you say this is normal, then all good
The bike certainly runs well, and the gears select nice. I'm certainly not heavy on the clutch. I like to think I have mechanical sympathy. Hence no stink like the first time I dropped it out after I bought it
I thought she was breathing a bit heavy, but I shortened the hoses into the catch can, so it's stopped blowing what bit there was back out of the bottle, and over my leg now

She used about half a litre of oil on my IOM trip, and never missed a beat in 1700 miles. It was pretty hot riding up through Spain. the heat from the motor was something else. I should get an oil cooler ordered. I meant to do it last year...
I still fancy pulling the motor apart and having a bit of a fettle though

It'll have to wait until the end of this year though, with the new job.
Thanks for the replies.
Now, to sort out the new spanners I found.....
