I imported my Enfield from Qatar, and have been trying to get it registered. I've applied twice, and am now down to just one thing, the date of manufacture. In my last application I explained about the VIN and engine numbers showing this, with photocopies of the relevant pages in the handbook. This isn't enough for them, I need an official dating certificate :headbang: Does anyone know how I can go about getting one of these for an Indian Enfield :?:

Enfield owners club? UK importers? A polite letter to the factory in India? Could try Harris who are now owned by Enfield for a name inside Enfield? Indian bike forum, must be people "in the know" over there?

I tried a polite letter to the factory in India, resounding silence. I'm going to get my son to see if Twigger's in Loughborough can help, they're Enfield dealers now.

I am down under, bloody waterproofs on every day to ride to work lOl
The rest of the family is still in the UK, so at least I can keep the process going remotely, it's been delayed by almost 2 years already.

Bike related, but not post related, I am really enjoying my RE Continental GT.
It's a perfect little town runabout.
Bought it new and have had it about 18 months now.
It has proved very reliable, and even with the underwhelming power it puts out, it still manages to put a smile on my face every ride.
For under £5K you really can't go wrong! :D

:yt: I was back in the UK for July, so spent a couple of weekends pootling around the notts/leics wolds backroads with a mate on a sportster, best fun I've had in a long time, despite the huge export plate on the back lOl

www.hitchcocksmotorcycles.com is the main independent suppliers of enfield parts. You could email them for advice.
www.royalenfield.org.uk is the British based owners club. They dated a bike for me ,but not sure if they do the Indian made ones.
There are Independent people that will date vehicles for a price.

Thanks for all that. Mine isn't a domestic indian model, it's the EU spec one, it passed the DVLA conformance test with no problem. Anyway, they can probably help, thanks :P
