Hi, has anyone experienced problems with the bolts that secure the side stand to the engine case?? Mine snapped clean off whilst in the pyrenees :?

Dont suppose you have a Jardine or similar aftermarket can that has the LH chin spoiler bracket sandwiched between the stand bracket and engine ?

Otherwise, not come across this......bolts must have worked lose to do that.

Mine failed about 1 month ago. Had gone to see my mechanic, parked bike on fairly firm gravel surface and walked away. About 30 seconds later, it did a slow motion collapse to the left breaking n/s mirror but thats all.
On examination, 1 bolt had sheared, the other held but bent over causing the bike to fall over.
Had to remove the exhaust to remove damaged bolts and replace.
My stand still has a lot of slack in it. It is firmly bolted to the underside of the engine but I think the pivot is worn and probably need replacing.
