I bid on one now cancelled.
How to find a good one?
Milage is a problem but servicing and the way the bike has been ridden would be one of my concerns -
track days!
Some models are proved to be better than others mainly due to continuous development.
I understand the last of the XB12 models post 2008 had a bigger crank pin? and other improvements.

2008 and later XB engines have larger crank pins and the bottom end will typically- --- live much longer than the previous model years. Top end life is generally the same.
As mentioned before, maintenance and riding style are probably the most important factors on engine life.

Don't know if your interested in a 2003 or 2004 XB 12s with Dutch papers?

2004 has 34000km and is a ex salvaged bike ,but it's a joy to ride and used for fun in between rides or lent out to my brother.
2003 has a 2006 engine with 12500km ,it got fresh powder coat on lot of parts
Only waiting on a muffler and proper tune. (trying to manage that this spring)
(both bikes have a grease nipple in the output gear)
