First ride of the year, I foolishly believed the BBC weather forecast.

But all went well until I pulled back into Monmouth and the right hand side footrest snapped.

Any reliable sources for replacements or alternatives?

Thank you for all of the replies except for 1

Barney: I tried your Slimfast option and eventually managed to attach the slimfast container to the bike as a replacement footrest.

I wasn't too sure of the aesthetic appeal but it was the cheapest option and I was sure there would be no tongue in cheek replies from forum members....

The only issue was when it rained again the container collapsed as it's made of cardboard!

Hey, how cold does it get where you live then, or was it just the shock of a "blicey arst" and pie retention ? :coat:

Still alive and recovering after the footpeg replacement.

Just one "circlip" decided to make a dash for freedom but was soon re-captured.

No slimfast tins to be seen and the :run: weather was a balmy 5 degrees in Wales

Thanks to Oberon Performance Parts for a quick turn around on the footpegs.

I would say fit one before the next tank full of petrol . And fit a Maz nipple before the second tank full of petrol.

P S.Steering damper on a Buell must be hiding other faults.?

Steering damper was already fitted when I bought the bike, it was turned up pretty stiff, I've adjusted it down subsequently and it's probably more on there now because that's how it arrived.
