I have followed the manual a few times when taking wheel off. Its a lot to do just to get the wheel out. I have seen on another forum suggestions that belt tensioner can be left in place ( so maybe footrest / sprocket cover/ chin fairing / belt guard / mudguard can be left too ?) Is this possible/easy/recommended? Would make it a lot easier if I had a puncture needing roadside wheel removal. |

Maz wrote: No. It does seem a bit unlikely. Even after loosening axle I find the belt is really tight when trying to get the free spirit tensioner back on. |

Just put new tyres on my XB12XT and I removed my FS Tensioner to give me extra slack to slide belt off - I also removed the plastic cover over the lower belt run, not sure if I really needed to but the Torx key was there and its only 2 screws !! Enjoy ! Eric. |
