Really have you done the math

Roughly 261 working days a year so that's 261 x 12.50 = £3,262 if your a Buell commuter (2008 model are fine)

I'm shit at math...

Going to cost £12.50 to visit my daughter after 2020 as she lives just inside the North Circular.

I sold my Uly in a fit of pique after one ride where Sussex police armed with speed guns were round every corner in a new 50 mph limit which everyone rode quite happily at the national speed limit and I thought, what’s the point?

Seems they want to legislate us out of everything enjoyable, even cake.

Rant over

My first test ride of a Buell was around Dorking in 1997. The roads were all 40s and 50s with a brief length of dual and that was only a 60! Granted it was a bit frustrating, but l Still had a great time. A police unit shadowed me for a few miles......probably also bike enthusiasts. So l Catapulted up to 50 off a few roundabouts then sat fixed on 50 for a laugh. When they could see l wasn’t going to really go for it, they roared past me out of boredom probably. I was just revelling in the 1200 tubers rather loud V&H pipe sound at any speed! ;) Would probably have been pulled over for the pipe today.

Uly out 1125 in. Not sure how it all works but I'd be pretty sure the Uly creates less pollution than the 1125..65mpg vs 40mpg ish. Silly bureaucrats
Could always swap plates I suppose...What could go wrong lOl

You might want to double check that - my Uly 07 is approved for use in ULEZ by TFL and I kept a copy of the screen shot to prove it. :-)

Yeah I double-checked it last week...Mine is '06.

I was warned before I bought it. Was never meant to be a work bike but when I get rostered for finish at 5am on a sunny Sunday morning, not much beats riding around London landmarks with no people, cars or pollution. Got the 1125 still but I have unexpectedly fallen for this Uly more than just for touring now :?

Thanks for the info though :)

Kiwi, I double checked my VIN and it's a 06 model year as well - might be worth a call to HD UK to check if NOx emission is below 0.15 g/km and if so ask for Cert of Conformity. If it is PM me and I'll let you know what to do - my old 125 scooter had similar issue.

This is what i am trying to do at the moment for my 07 XB9SX but its not as easy as i first thought as COC (Cert of Conformity) only goes back ten years & it will cost to get one if you can. Harley-Davidson are your only hope here i think.

The question is how do you find out if your NOx emission is below 0.15 g/km ? as theirs nothing on my V5.

When i checked my bike last year on the TFL site it was fine however this year when i check it isn't.

Hmmm... Interesting ...

My VIN says 05 but I've been informed there is no 05 Uly so I'm to call it a 06 Uly.

I might just make that call.

Did you have to test your scoot for conformity? I don't have the original exhaust so I wouldn't like my chances with a test.

Shouldn't there be a mfg date on the plate?

Anyway, good luck with the COC. Let us know how you go, I'll do same.
