are buell fitting magic wheel bearings in america......this is a post on the buelletin board in usa.....................................................................................................Hey guys, I just read hspinola's message, about his Uly rear wheel bearing failing at 3000 miles and thought I would put this out to you.
I bought my 04 XB brand new in February 06 (old stock) with 0 miles on it. I had all the "tuning" parts fitted from new and have serviced it at the specified intervals. I have NEVER replaced ANY bearings what so ever, wheel, steering, swing arm, are all still fine and show no signs of trouble. I have 25000 miles on it now and I have only ever had the following replaced: 1 Snapped clutch cable (warranty), 1 Primary cover (warranty), 1 Battery - left park lights on (warranty), 1 Front isolator mount (warranty). I ride it every day to work and weekends. It does not get "babied" by any means and who can help but point the front wheel skyward on hard take offs?
My point is not to brag, but to ask, did I just get a good one, or is it my preventative maintenance?

Well there are two possible answers to this. Either he doesn't know how to check the bearings, ie strip the forks, wheels, swinger etc OR he really does have magic bearings fitted.
I shall be contacting my Dealer for a part number for these 'Magic' bearings ;)

I posted about this a while ago. Consensus seemed to be that we don't have corners in the States.

But seriously, I still don't know why nobody here seems to take it with the same degree of seriousness as UK Buellers... not even the US web site "gurus" cover the bearings issue the way you do here.
