Hi fellas,

Just had the XB9 in for its first MOT and have an advisory on the headrace bearings, how much do you think I would be looking at to get them done?

Cheers

Rob

New bearings are 46.32 incl. vat and the job would take around 2 hours.

Just for info whats the mileage?
Also there quite easy to do yourself as there are no special tools required.

Mileage is 11k

How easy is easy? I'm not afraid to have a go with the spanners, but Im guessing I would have to get the front end of the bike in the air to start with, which im guessing isn't an easy task?

If you've still got the standard exhaust fitted or the race can you can jack it up on the exhaust and you are only talking about an hour or two to complete the job although I would recommend changing the fork oil at the same time if it's not been done.
11k sounds about right as they only last about 10k.
If your happy spannering yourself it's a very easy job as there's no setting up to do as once the new bearings are fitted it's just a case of torquing the bolt back on.
