As in the title. 2010 Uly XT, 25000 miles. Went for a ride today, temp a couple of degrees above zero. Noticed vibes were harsh when leaving, usually smooths out in winter when warmed up but not today. After 60 miles the silencer broke in 2, between the body and the pipe to the headers. Are the vibes an indicator that my isolators need replacing? Or possibly the silencer fracturing was causing more vibes? I thought as the silencer is attached to the engine it would vibrate intune and not be too stressed. So I'm looking for a new silencer but don't want to risk fracturing a new one if its a bad isolator. Any recommendations on a good replacement, ideally not too loud, the one on there is the original that Tubbs had reworked 4 years ago. Decided my bike doesn't like the winter, I've had 2 belts snap in winter, both times going into 1st gear from a cold start, both at 10000 miles. |

Possibly something loose or worn on the exhaust mounts was the cause of the vibration in the first place. Like you say it should vibrate with the engine NOT against it ![]() |

Found the bolt holding the front silencer bracket to the engine had disappeared. Any recommendations for Buell mechanics in the south? |
