Looks like EBR have taken back the rights to use the Buell name.

Not seen any official release about it but they have changed the name of their Facebook page from "EBR Motorcycles" to "Buell Motorcycles" and, on looking deeper, their own webpage has gone the same way https://www.buellmotorcycle.com/history

Obviously under the ownership of LAP and Bill Melvin and with Erik's departure it's a shadow of what it was but they are keeping the name alive. They seem to be only producing a handful of bikes and providing parts support for EBR but they do still have a few long term Buell employees there and who knows what the future might hold :D

I noticed too Steve. But without Erik and with only a near twenty year old engine design at their disposal, how positive can you be? I hope for better things but I am not holding my breath.

If they keep the existing EBR’s going it’d be a great start :yup:

I think this year the EBR and X1 won’t even get on the road for their MOT’s :oooops:

clive
Taking your car or bike for MOT is ok under lockdown .
after the MOT you could go on a LONG ride before going home , just to get it ( engine / gearbox oil ) up to operating temp and burn of the stale months old fuel degrading in the tank :yup:
Hopefully, it will be June time :sun: that the lockdown and tier restrictions ease enough to allow trips out, on the bike into the countryside without having to keep a lookout for the lockdown police.

To be fair that’s not the issue as I’m laughingly a key worker and ride to work. I prefer to use the Street Triple or the Spitfire - letting the EBR or X1 warm up on the drive before setting off at 0500hrs isnt an option. They’re purely for leisure - additionally they both need a decent service and a trip to Maz from here is defo a non starter ;)

I much prefer the riding them gently to warm them up rather than leaving an engine idling, that only works if the actual commute is far enough to get them to full temp though. To be honest though we hardly rode any of the bikes last year at all due to lockdown and the fact that there was nowhere to actually go to. Riding to work is no good to me because it's only a mile from home.

:yt: kev
start it up, put jacket ,helmet and gloves on, then take it easy for a few miles ,give it chance to warm up :yup:
only about 2.5 miles too work for me, so car wins for that trip.
do have a nice little route around the block, country lanes and 50 miles for the bike , or 100 miles pop in to wales to cad west and back :yup:

Even a couple of minutes is a little rude at 0500hrs especially with Alan’s masterpieces fitted - on the ST and Spitfire it’s pretty much a start and go.

The route I take is 25 mile at shortest but can be much longer going home on a nice warm dry evening :D

Yep...like all things...a gentle warm up is needed before a good spanking can be administered ;)
