What is a realistic price for a mint condition Barricade Orange Ully XB12X ( '07 ) 57 plate with 4000miles on the clock . Bike has high screen , low seat , heated grips and full Buell luggage system ( Panniers and top box ) , Full HD service .

First garage i tried gave me a ridiculous trade in price .

What is the current market price for trade in and private sale .

All help would be appreciated .

Something close to £4k for a private sale. No experience on trade prices, though, they'll probably be looking at around £1500 less than that.

I'd have thought about £5k or maybe slightly more considering the extras, Ulys seem to be more in demand than STTs anyway

It all depends in whether anyone with cash wants a Uly this week.

Now we are talking about a more realistic price . I dont really want to get rid of the Ully but needs must .

I'd consider £5k but certainly not £4k .

Sad thing is its worth more to me than £5k but with a wedding coming up i have to keep the good lady sweet . Might have to be without a toy for a few months to do just that .

Thanks for your comments Bungle

Sadly, Gordy, a used bike is only ever worth what someone is prepared to pay for it.... good luck mate, but there is still a recession out there you know.....

Saw a mint 08 registered 07 Uly near me with 1100 miles on it for 3800 and I believe he took 3200 for it.

You'd better get it advertised at £5k then.

May I be the first to wish you Good luck with the sale. 8-)

Not so sure that statement is accurate. Maybe that should read "All help would be appreciated as long as you are saying what I want to hear, otherwise I'll accuse you of being a bike trader."

Hi BG.

I bought my mint 06 Uly, 11 month old, 1700 miles with both seats, Scorp tyres (an upgrade at the time) for £5200 and I recon that was about £200 over the top. I paid a bit more because of its history. I have been looking a Buell prices over the last 6 months, because I am thinking on a Bolt, and the Uly is one of the ones that people want but it is a buyers market at the moment.

You will get nowt from dealers and your location limits buyers. The going rate for your year and miles bike, STD, is about £3800ish. Sell the luggage on its own, worth about £350, and the other stuff is just a better selling point.

Hate to say it but you have no chance at all of getting 5k for it and I think you would be doing well at 4K.

I wish you the very best of luck with the sale and your wedding.

When we were thinking of selling our 08 ulyXT we were offered £4.5k trade in for it but were advised between £5 and £6k private sale for it. All we asked for were sensible offers but its a buyers market at the moment especially with the economic climate as it is. The upshot is that the offers we got were nowhere near what we could feasibly let it go for and in the end we weathered the storm and kept it and we are so glad we could. That said if you really must sell Gordy all the best getting as much as you can for it.

It might be a recession but I thought prices were holding due to the EUR fx rate and lots of second hand machines being shipped to places like Germany? This meant that there is a shortage of quality second hand Buells....I must have got that wrong but I'm sure I heard that somewhere.....

Yes this does happen. My mate just sold his near mint, 10K (most have 50K plus on them) BMW 1100RT for about £500 less than its worth but he had calls from all over the EU about it. Most are dealers though.
