Post subject:  petrol tap problems

Hi everybody Matt333 new member here. Purchased Buell S1 1998 a couple of months ago as I thought I would have another Buell again as I use to have Molten Orange years ago. Have been doing a few minor jobs that needing doing but I have great difficulty obtaining a petrol tap washer seal , the rubber seal is orange 3 hole 18mm in diameter , the tap is a O.M.G . Don't know if this is a standard tap or not as the petrol tank is a HOLTWORKS Tank. I have spoken to Holtworks and they suggested to come on this forum as the previous owner who ordered the tank was a member. Can anybody help me to obtain a rubber seal for my tap or steer me in the right direction who carries spares. Any help would be gratefully appreciated. Cheers Matt

Ok, is this the seal between the tank and tap or the tap internal seal ?

Search , petcock repair kit , or just replace the whole thing. One to match the oem one was found by pash . pingel taps were fitted to some holtworks tanks , measure between fixing hole centres if buying.

Hi, you need an OMG or equivalent 34mm from centre for mounting they do a metal fuel tap upgrade or just replace the mounting o-ring but make sure it’s fuel compatible ie viton. It’s sounds like you have the original tap as the pingle is bigger and has a mounting block.I have the standard tap on my holtsworks tank and it mounted perfectly with no problems , Hope that helps.Do a google search for the tap but make sure you purchase a forward outlet.
