I was watching a YouTube vid by ‘The Fuel Geek’ or was it the ‘Oil Geek’ recently and was reminded about why quality fuel might be a good idea! ;)

This is probably old news, but the basic discussion focussed on the fact that the oil behind your piston rings has the highest % of fuel mixture of all the engine oil due to the induction and compression process.
This dilution of oil in proximity of the rings is the reason high quality fuel makers add ‘friction modifiers’ to restore the protective lubricating action of this mixture to extend the life of the engine.

I recall someone who worked for Shell Fuels telling me that their V Power was the best in his view because of the additives used. With these things in mind I tend to use nothing else in my car and bike these days.
Fortunately I don’t have the essential need to cover high miles these days and I am less concerned about pump prices generally being high for Shell’s finest! 8-)
